The Court has issued its order. The jury has reached a verdict.
Now what?
After litigation reaches its conclusion at the trial court level, it is important to consider the impact the court’s rulings and the jury’s verdict has on the parties’ right to appeal. If you are unhappy with the outcome of the case, did the Court make any errors that can be challenged by an appeal? If so, were the errors properly preserved, and were the errors significant enough that they are not harmless? An appellate lawyer can provide a fresh and objective perspective on the case. If you are the prevailing party, it is also important to know the risks of the judgment in your favor being reversed on appeal, and to have an appellate lawyer on your side to protect your victory in the trial court.
